"Independents need to work together to force the bigger companies to give us the same pricing as they give the chains. The Dining Alliance does just that. We help each other out as independents to get the best pricing on the programs offered by Dining Alliance. It helps to keep the vendors in line so they don't gouge the little guy. The more programs that I participate in, the greater the savings. This year I was able to save $3,000 on my liability insurance through the Dining Alliance program. In the face of rising costs in other areas, that is a lot of money! It is important to stay competitive with the chains. The chains carry a lot of fat but as independents we have to know how to trim costs."
